Smartstarts Day Nursery is rated "GOOD" by Ofsted.The nursery provides an enriched learning environment that has helped countless children get ahead. Founded in 2006, the Nursery is located in Church Road, Manor Park in front of Little Ilford School and reflects the diverse backgrounds and cultures of the area. Baby Room
BABY ROOM Up to 2 years
The baby room provides ample space to crawl and explore in a safe and secure setting. We aim to provide a comforting and homely environment in which your child's daily routine will be followed through close liaison with parents/carers.
Toddler Room
TODDLERS 2 -3 years
The toddlers have their own room to play with free access to many activities such as crafts, games, home corner and messy play. There is also a cosy corner for taking naps and sharing stories quietly. The children are cared for in small groups and will be encouraged to progress and become more confident and independent through their play.
PRE SCHOOL 3-5 years
The children in the pre school room follow a slightly more structured day to help them develop in line with the Early Learning Goals set by the DCSF. The staff follow a curriculum designed to your child's individual needs; activities will be planned which are fun and exciting to ensure that children enjoy their time in this room. Their activity areas will include sand/water, messy play, construction, book area, mathematical resources and puzzles. We will use the full resources of the nursery and our surroundings to teach the children about the world around them.

The children will be learning about the importance of reading everyday.
On World Book Day itself, children can dress up in their favourite book characters.
During w/c 11th March, the children will be taken to a bookshop, where they can choose a book, from a selection of three, by using their £1 book token.
Parent/Carer
sessions
Appointments can be made by calling the nursery.
The parent session is your opportunity to come and talk to the staff about your child's development in an informal environment over a drink (tea and coffee only). Parents have benefited greatly from this, working in partnership to aid their child's development.

Our aim is to create a program that engages and interests every single student. We strive to make learning fascinating by helping children accomplish challenges and exceed their goals in a caring and supportive environment. Fees and Grants
Childcare you can get help with
Fees are payable monthly in advance.
From Apr 2024 - Up to 15 hours for eligible working families in England with a 2-year-old.
From Sept 2024 - Up to 15 hours for eligible working families in England with a child between 9 and 23 months old.
From Sept 2025 - Up to 30 hours for eligible working families in England with a child from 9 months old up to school age.
